Meridian employees are regularly looking for ways to get involved in their communities - from volunteering on boards and committees to helping organize community events and mentoring kids.
We're always looking for ways to 'match' our employees with community organizations that align with their values and skills, so we've created an internal volunteer posting microsite.
This great initiative will help our employees find volunteer opportunities right in their neighbourhoods. But for this program to be a success, we need your help!
If you're a not-for-profit, service club or community organization in one of the 43 neighbourhoods Meridian serves, and you're looking for volunteers that can make a difference, send us a brief description of your volunteer opportunity by completing this form.
We'll then post your opportunity on our employee intranet site.
My opportunity would require a volunteer during regular business hours. Is that going to be a problem?
Meridian supports employees by providing them with three wellness days per year to use for volunteering in the community, so this is absolutely something we can accommodate!
How do Meridian employees get involved in their communities?
Employees of Meridian are encouraged to get involved in their communities by:
- Contributing time and expertise as volunteer board members in support of not-for-profit organizations that strenghten the neighbourhoods where we operate
- Volunteering as members of committees and event fundraisers for organizations that support local economic development, social services and the environment (examples include community events like parades and festivals, spring clean ups in local rivers, parks and green spaces, fashion shows, runs, walks and tournaments in support of social service agencies, local Chamber of Commerce events and activities)
Our staff also regularly volunteer for a variety of Meridian sponsored events such as:
- Meridian Bigga Tomatafest
- Easter Seals Chilifest
- Meridian Walk for Families
- Canal Days
- Meridian Kids Quest after school program
- Women's Centre of York Christmas Hampers

Please Note: this service is inclusive to all with the exception of the support of religious or political activities, private institutions, individual pursuits or any projects or organizations that operate outside of the communities where we do business. If you have any questions about Meridian's Good Neighbour Program mandate, please email the Good Neighbour Program email box and we'll be happy to answer your questions.
