Meridian Donates $5,000 to Goderich Relief Efforts

TORONTO (August 31, 2011) – Meridian, Ontario’s largest credit union, today announces a $5,000 donation to the Goderich Disaster Relief Fund to help support relief efforts following the devastating tornado in Goderich. Meridian’s corporate donation will qualify for matching funds from the provincial government.
"Our thoughts and well wishes go out to the residents of Goderich who were severely impacted by the devastation left by last week’s tornado,” said Sean Jackson, President and CEO, Meridian. "I was especially saddened to learn of Meridian Members and employees who were personally affected and I hope this donation will bring some much-needed support and help aid in the rebuilding efforts. ”
This donation is made possible through Meridian’s corporate social responsibility program, the Good Neighbour Program. Since 2005, Meridian has approved more than $4 million in donations and sponsorships to support more than 1,500 neighbourhood organizations and events.
