Member donations accepted at all Meridian branches
TORONTO (March 15, 2011) – Meridian, Ontario’s largest credit union, today donates $5,000 to the Ontario Credit Union Charitable Foundation’s (OCUCF) CanHelp program to help aid in the relief efforts following last week’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. All funds collected by CanHelp will be forwarded to the Canadian Red Cross.
“All of us at Meridian are saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami,” said Sean Jackson, President and CEO, Meridian. “We are calling on our Members and the communities we serve to help assist in the relief efforts.”
Members who are interested in donating can do so at any Meridian Branch through the OCUCF’s CanHelp program. Visit www.meridiancu.ca for a complete listing of Meridian branch locations.
The OCUCF will continue to collect funds from participating credit unions until April 30th, 2011, at which time the money collected will be forwarded to the Canadian Red Cross. Tax receipts will be issued to individual donors from OCUCF for any donation of $10.00 or more.
