TORONTO (April 4, 2011) – Meridian, Ontario’s largest credit union, today announces the launch of its new brand with a multimedia advertising campaign designed to familiarize Ontarians with its superior personalized service offerings. Meridian also introduces its No-Bounce service where Members, prior to bouncing a cheque, will be contacted and given an opportunity to resolve the matter before the transaction is processed – saving Members from potentially embarrassing situations and NSF fees.
The launch of the industry-first No-Bounce service along with the debut of Meridian’s new brand and advertising campaign is the result of extensive customer research, brand planning and development aimed at addressing its customers’ needs in order to create a truly advanced customer service offering.
“Our customer research revealed a strong need for personalized service from a trusted financial partner,” said Dave Roberts, vice president, marketing, Meridian. “Credit unions have remained a little-known secret in Ontario and we hope that this brand launch and advertising campaign will showcase Meridian as a dedicated, genuine and flexible financial services alternative.”
The goal of the advertising campaign is to introduce the advantages of Meridian Membership, including lower fees, higher interest rates and flexible lending options, to more Ontarians.
The new advertising campaign, featuring the credit union’s new tag line “Your Money. Your Way. Imagine That,” launches today with the roll out of radio spots in the credit union’s key Ontario markets. Print, online and outdoor components are scheduled to debut in mid-April and run until November. In addition to the No-Bounce service, the advertisements will also highlight Meridian’s Better than Market mortgage rate and superior customized service which includes calling all Members by name.
The ad campaign will also feature two 30-second television spots – the first for Meridian – and will feature real Meridian employees.
