St. Catharines — For the third year in a row Meridian Credit Union has made MediaCorp’s
Hamilton-Niagara Top Employers list, Sean Jackson, President and CEO of Meridian
Credit Union announced today.
“This year we continued to challenge ourselves to do more as an employer. We have
seen the results of this throughout the company. We are proud of our employees and
proud of the service they provide to our Members,” said Jackson
Now entering its 4th year, Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers list recognizes Hamilton-Niagara’s
best places to work by identifying companies and organizations that lead their industry
in attracting and retaining employees. A full list of each winner is available in
today’s Hamilton Spectator.
Since earning its first spot on the list in 2009, Meridian Credit Union has strengthened
its sales and service capabilities, continued to challenge and engage its employees
and provide innovative programs and benefits.
This year, Meridian added new benefits such as the Best Doctors program. This program
gives employees access to a Member Advocate, who will work with employees’ doctors
to ensure each employee receives the best treatment: including, second opinions
and access to more than 50,000 specialists.
Meridian also continued to emphasize employee engagement, challenging managers to
provide valuable feedback and engagement for each and every employee. The success
of these efforts was recognized earlier this year when it was nominated as one of
50 Most Engaged Workplaces by I Love Rewards.
But, above all, Jackson believes it is the unique culture that comes from being
part of a cooperative business that is to thank for Meridian’s success. As he explains,
“Our culture at Meridian is truly unique; it is through great leadership, passion
and teamwork of the talented people at Meridian that we are achieving our vision
and creating a wonderful place to do business for our Members.”
