Becoming a Director of Meridian
Meridian is a Member-owned, democratic co-operative organization. As such, the Nominating Committee is continually desirous of seeking Members who are interested in being nominated for a position on the Board of Directors.
Meridian's governance principles and practices are formulated on the basis of a high performing Board of Directors. The Board charges the Nominating Committee with the task of seeking the best qualified candidates to fill vacancies that occur.
Why become involved in seeking a Nomination?
Perhaps you are driven to want to make a difference in your community; perhaps you simply want to give back to your credit union. You may feel you are particularly qualified in a certain area that could benefit Meridian, such as strategic leadership, or have a great desire to learn something new and interesting to add to your own personal growth.

Each year the Board assesses the strengths of the current Board and provides direction to the Nominating Committee as to which areas of expertise should be priorities for the upcoming election. Specific areas of expertise include a financial accounting designation and knowledge of financial reporting standards, Human Resource Management background with focus of CEO oversight and Executive Compensation; and Information Technology.
Additionally a University Director's designation would be a definite asset, and the Committee is motivated to achieve greater gender balance on the Board.
