Learn how to set up alerts using the Meridian Mobile Banking App

By setting up alerts, you’ll always know about the activity in your Meridian accounts. Learn how to set up security, transaction and account balance alerts. In this guide, we’ll take you through the process, step by step.




Step 1: Go to Alerts

Once you have signed in to the mobile app, tap the menu button at the top and select Alerts from the menu.



Step 2: View Alerts Inbox

On the Alerts home screen, you’ll find your Alerts Inbox. This is where you’ll find all the alerts you’ve received in the mobile app over the last six months.

Tap the ‘view more’ icon next to each alert to read the full text of the alert. Once you’ve read it, you can tap ‘Delete’ to delete the alert, or tap the ‘Back’ button to go back to the Alerts Inbox.

In the Alerts Inbox, you can also tap the 'x' icon next to each alert to delete it.



Step 3: Go to Manage Alerts

Tap the ‘Manage Alerts’ button to get into your alerts management settings.

On the Manage Alerts page, you can set up and manage security alerts, which apply to all your Meridian accounts, as well as specific transaction alerts and account balance alerts for your individual Meridian accounts.

Tap the Security Alerts option at the top of the page to go to the Security Alerts settings.



Step 4: Manage security alerts

Security alerts will let you know if your accounts are locked, if your contact information or password has changed, if a scheduled bill payment failed, if an external account is linked, or if a new bill payee is added.

By enabling these alerts, you’ll be sure that it’s only you doing any of these activities.

Choose only the alerts you want to activate by tapping the button next to each one. If you want to enable them all, use the ‘Turn All Alerts On’ option at the top.

Tip: The last two alerts are automatically enabled and can’t be turned off.

Tap the ‘Save’ button to save your Security Alerts settings.



Step 5: Select account

Transaction alerts and account balance alerts are specific to each account, so first you have to select which account you want to set up alerts for.

To do this, use the drop down list under ‘Select Account’ to select the account.



Step 6: Manage transaction alerts

Tap the ‘Transaction Alerts’ option to go into the transaction alerts settings for the account you’ve selected.

There are several transaction alerts to notify you of your transaction-related activities, including payments, deposits, and transfers.

For upcoming bill payments and transfers, you can even set the number of days in advance you’d like to receive a notification of the upcoming payment or transfer.

Choose only the alerts you want to activate by tapping the button next to each one. If you want to enable them all, use the ‘Turn All Alerts On’ option at the top.

Tap the ‘Save’ button to save your Transaction Alerts settings for this account.



Step 7: Manage account balance alerts

Tap the ‘Account Balance Alerts’ option to go into the account balance alerts settings for the account you have selected.

You can enable alerts to notify you if your account is overdrawn due to a pre-authorized debit, or if your end of day balance falls below a specified dollar amount. The default amount is set to $100, but you can change this amount by typing the dollar amount you wish to set for the alert.

Choose only the alerts you want to activate by tapping the button next to each one. If you want to enable them all, use the ‘Turn All Alerts On’ option at the top.

Tap the ‘Save’ button to save your Account Balance Alerts settings for this account.



Step 8: Enable email notifications

At the bottom of the Manage Alerts page, you can set the delivery method for your alerts. Notifications can be delivered through the app, via email, or both.

To enable email notifications, first tap the button next to ‘Email’. If this is your first time setting up your email for alerts, you will receive a pop-up message titled, ‘Email Address Required’. Tap the ‘Confirm’ button in the pop-up to continue.

Type your email address in the ‘Enter Email’ field and then tap ‘Submit’.

Your email address should now appear in the Manage Alerts page under ‘Email to’.



Step 9: View new alerts

When you get a new alert in the mobile app, there will be a small red icon over the menu button on the app home screen. This tells you how many new alerts you have in your Alerts Inbox.

Tapping the menu button will reveal the menu with the same red numbered icon over Alerts. Tap on the Alerts option to go into your Alerts Inbox and view your new alerts.
