What is Meridian’s Digital Banking Security Guarantee?
We know you trust us to keep your accounts and personal information safe and secure. That’s why, if any unauthorized transactions occurs through online or mobile banking and you’ve met all your responsibilities, we will reimburse you.

Things that will help you get your money back:

Keep your software up to date, including updated anti-virus and firewalls.

Let us know about any suspicious activity right away. If you think you are a victim of fraud, please call us immediately at 1-866-592-2226.

Review your transactions regularly.
Things that won’t help you get your money back:

Don’t share your password and any one-time passcodes we send to you with anyone (even if they claim to be calling on behalf of Meridian).

Don’t use a public wireless network or shared device to log into your Meridian online banking or mobile application.

Debit and credit card security
- Your card has an embedded microchip to encrypt information, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to copy or access the data on the card.

Visa Tap to Pay and Interac† Flash let you use your card or mobile wallet to pay for purchases under a set limit without using your pin.
Contact centre security measures

When you call the contact centre, we verify your identity using the standards set out in anti-money laundering legislation and related regulations.
- You can also sign up for voice verification, an additional layer of security. Your voiceprint, or vocal signature, is only used to validate your identity over the phone. Learn more about voice authentication.
- All personal information obtained by Meridian over the phone is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
ATM security measures

Our ATMs are all equipped with a physical cover on PIN pads, to hide your PIN when you are at the machine.

Built-in privacy screens make sure that only the person standing in directly front of the ATM can see what’s on the screen.

There’s camera coverage of all Meridian branch ABMs, to prevent theft and fraud.
