With COVID-19 on everyone’s mind, I wanted to reach out and give you an update on Meridian’s commitment to our Members and employees. As news comes in, we are monitoring information from Canadian public health and Government authorities, and taking the steps needed to reduce risk.
Protecting our Members and employees
Our branch locations are open, and we’ll be here when you need us. Alternatively, online and mobile banking channels and ATMs are available 24/7 and our Contact Centre is open every day from 8am to midnight. With any of these safe and easy options, you can:
- View account balances, transfer funds and pay bills
- Send and receive money with Interac e-Transfer®
- Deposit cheques with your phone
Get more information on how to sign up for online banking or to download the app.
Advisors are available if you need to see someone in person; however, phone or video conferencing are excellent ways to connect while reducing risk.
The well-being of our Members and employees is a priority for us. Our employees are informed and taking precautions to protect themselves and those they serve. Increased cleaning practices in branches and corporate offices will ensure that surfaces and high traffic areas are clean, with alcohol-based sanitizer at the ready wherever possible.
Given the risks with COVID-19, we have to be mindful of the more vulnerable among us, and do our part to reduce risks for the greater community. With this in mind, I respectfully ask Members to take extra caution. If you are feeling unwell, please contact your health care provider before coming into the branch.
Supporting our Members
If you’re directly impacted by COVID-19 and facing financial challenges as a result, we want to help. I encourage you to reach out to your Meridian advisor, call one of our branches, or call our Contact Centre at 1-866-592-2226. You have enough on your mind without added financial stress, and we want to help you find a solution.
We are confident the steps we’re taking now will protect the health of our Members and staff over the coming weeks. Stay safe everyone, and please visit our website www.meridiancu.ca for further updates as they become available.
Thank you,
Bill Maurin, CEO, Meridian Credit Union
