Hello, I’m Bill Maurin and I’m the President and CEO of Meridian. We are living through extraordinary times.  COVID-19 is an unprecedented situation, affecting every aspect of our lives.

I want to assure you that we are committed to support you, our employees and our communities, as we work through this. We are in this together. We know you depend on us, not just for your banking needs, but for the important advice that goes with that, and we stand ready to help you.

This is not the first nor the last time that Meridian has risen to the occasion to serve our Members and communities in challenging circumstances − in fact, how we do that is what makes us different. And we take that same philosophy in our Meridian OneCap leasing company, as well as motusbank.

We are not going to make promises we can’t keep. Instead, we’re ready to work with you on a case-by-case basis to come up with solutions that make sense. We have a fantastic team ready to help:

Our wealth management advisors have been reaching out to their Members through personal consultations to offer support, reassurance and guidance. Our business banking advisors are on the ground, in one-on-one meetings, either virtually or in person, with small businesses and commercial enterprises, with a special focus on sectors like the hospitality industry who are feeling the immediate impacts of COVID-19

And, as always, we have our front line employees in branches across the province delivering superior service. We’ve taken additional precautions like screening Members, reducing branch hours and enhanced cleaning to help ensure the health & safety of our front line workers and Members who come into the branches.

We appreciate the support we have been getting from our Members about these measures. Many have expressed their safety concerns about our front line employees. To further help you, we’ve equipped our teams with new video conferencing technology, to allow them to connect with you in a personalized way, while reducing risk for everyone.

Our online, mobile, and ABM channels are available 24/7. Our Contact Centre is open to assist you every day from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. So we are here to serve you.

I want you to know we are coming at this from a position of strength. Our balance sheet is strong, our business is strong.
