Land Acknowledgement

Meridian is committed to advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action and engaging in meaningful progress toward reconciliation. We respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and the land on which our Toronto Corporate Office sits is the Treaty 13 lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat Peoples, who have walked with and cared for this land since time immemorial. From coast to coast to coast, we acknowledge the ancestral and unceded territories of all First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island, and we give thanks for their stewardship of the land, the waters and the richness of their cultures. At Meridian, we're committed to advancing economic inclusion by creating opportunities, shaping policy, and expanding equitable access to financial services and professional development to learn and grow with Indigenous communities and help build shared prosperity for the seventh generation and beyond.

Reconciliation and collaboration

Meridian has established relationships with organizations including the CCIB, Indigenomics Institute, AFOA Canada, and NATOA. Through these partnerships and active participation in events, such as the Assembly of First Nations, the Niagara Regional Native Center’s Annual Pow Wow, OFNEDA, and the Little NHL, we’re better positioned to grow our understanding of Indigenous priorities and foster reconciliation.
