Gary Genik Announces His Retirement

Toronto, ON, March 14, 2022 – Gary Genik, Special Advisor, Meridian announced his intention to retire from the organization effective May 31, 2022.

He leaves Meridian with a long list of accomplishments that have significantly contributed to the organization’s strong growth trajectory, market leading digital innovations and product service offerings.

Some of his many accomplishments include:

  • Integration of former Ontario Desjardins Credit Union branches into our network.
  • Multiple banking system integrations including the launch of Encore.
  • Leading the multi-year technical build and market launch of motusbank.
  • Introducing a new and unique value proposition for our Wealth Management line of business that is now delivering market leading growth.
  • Leading integration of Roynat Lease Finance into Meridian operations and the creation of Meridian OneCap.
  • Build and launch of Meridian’s market leading digital platform.

Gary has also played a key support role in a number of CU sector organizations, including the Ontario Large Organization of Credit Unions, the national LCUC CEO Payments Committee, and the LCUC CIO group through which he contributed to the implementation of a first-in-Canada mobile payments and remote mobile cheque deposits services.

“I am thrilled to have been part of building and growing such an exemplary organization and being part of the Canadian co-operative and credit union system. It has truly been the highlight of my career in financial services,” said Genik.
