Meridian 2026 New Business Banking Online Chequing Account Offer

THE OFFER

The Meridian New Business Banking Online Chequing Account Offer (the “Offer”) provides New Small Business Members with the opportunity to earn a $400 cash bonus (“Cash Bonus”) and a waiver of the chequing account’s monthly package fees for the first 12 months. To qualify, members must open a new Meridian Business chequing account online and meet all eligibility criteria specified in these Terms and Conditions. The Offer is available from March 16, 2026, to December 31, 2026 (the “Offer Period”).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE OFFER

The following criteria must be satisfied by the New Small Business Member to qualify for the Offer.

New Small Business Member

  1. Your business operates in Ontario, Canada.
  2. Individual opening the Eligible Account (defined below) must be a Canadian resident age 19 or over at the time of participation.
  3. Be a sole proprietor or single-owner corporation in order to open an Eligible Account.
  4. Have not held a Meridian Business Membership as of December 31, 2025.
  5. Purchase a business Membership share or use an existing Retail Membership share and open an eligible business banking chequing account during the Offer Period. Open an e-Prosper Chequing Account or Prosper Chequing Account online (“Eligible Account”).  Accounts opened in person are not eligible.

Additional Eligibility Criteria for the Cash Bonus

  1. Deposit $1500 within 30 days of Eligible Account opening. An Eligible Account is considered opened when the Member receives the account number and can access the account through the branch, online or mobile banking.
  2. Maintain the $1500 account balance for at least 6 months after opening.

(collectively, hereinafter referred to as the “Offer Eligibility Criteria”).

CASH BONUS PAYOUT

After the New Small Business Member meets the Offer Eligibility Criteria and complies with the Offer terms and conditions, Meridian will deposit the Cash Bonus as per the payout schedule outlined below, into the New Small Business Member’s Eligible Account.  The Eligible Account needs to be open and active/in good standing. If the Eligible Account is not in good standing, the Cash Bonus will not be paid out. Determination of fulfillment of the Offer Eligibility Criteria and compliance with the Offer terms and conditions is at Meridian’s sole discretion.

The New Small Business Member must accept the Cash Bonus in the form that it is awarded and must be a Member of Meridian with an Eligible Account at the time the Cash Bonus is paid; no substitutes or exceptions are permitted.

PAYOUT SCHEDULE

The Cash Bonus will be deposited into the Eligible Account between 2-4 weeks after the Offer Eligibility Criteria is met.

CHEQUING ACCOUNT FEE WAIVER TIMELINE

Monthly account fee will be waived from the date of account opening and for a 12-month period thereafter. 

GENERAL TERMS

  1. The Eligible Account’s monthly package fee will be waived for the first twelve (12) months from the date of the Eligible Account opening, provided the New Small Business Member meets the Offer Eligibility Criteria. All other applicable services charges on the Eligible Account will continue to apply. After the first twelve (12) months, the standard monthly package fee automatically charged to the Eligible Account in accordance with Meridian's standard business banking fee structure. The Offer covers monthly service fees for Business Online Banking of $15 per month for a 12-month period.
  2. The Offer is open to new Small Business Members who join Meridian Credit Union during the Offer Period.
  3. Except as may be set out in the Terms and Conditions of this Offer, all terms and conditions applicable to products and services held by you with Meridian are not amended by the Terms and Conditions of this Offer and continue to apply during and after this Offer.
  4. This is a limited time Offer. The Terms and Conditions of this Offer, including the overall availability of the Offer, are subject to the absolute discretion of Meridian and may be changed at any time by Meridian without advance notice. Meridian reserves the right to amend, withdraw or terminate the Offer at any time, without further notice. If Meridian amends the Terms and Conditions of this Offer, Meridian will make available the updated Terms and Conditions in branch or on the Meridian website.
  5. If Meridian is unable to run this Offer as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Meridian which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Offer, Meridian reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Offer, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way.
  6. Redemption of the Cash Bonus by a New Small Business Member who is eligible for the Offer is limited to one (1) per Business and may not be combined with any other cash incentive offer.
  7. Meridian reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, disqualify, limit or revoke this Offer to any Member it finds, or believes to be, manipulating or otherwise abusing the process, fairness, or integrity of this Offer.
  8. To the extent that the terms and conditions are inconsistent with any other communication, advertisement, or statement (a "Message") from Meridian, these terms and conditions will supersede all other Messages.
  9. By participating in this Offer, all participants agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and these Terms and Conditions. Any attempt to manipulate or exploit the Offer will result in disqualification.
  10. In consideration of this Offer provided by Meridian, the Member agrees through their participation in this Offer, to irrevocably and unconditionally release, discharge and forever hold harmless Meridian, its directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, accounts, bonds, covenants, contracts, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, expenses, and compensation of any kind whatsoever (collectively “Claims”), whether known or unknown, which the Member, or any person claiming through or on behalf of the Member, now has, or may hereafter have, arising out of or in connection with this Offer or any associated transaction, service, or product provided by Meridian.
  11. By participating in this Offer, the Member agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all Claims, including legal fees and expenses on a full indemnity basis, that may be brought against or incurred by any of the Released Parties as a result of or in connection with this Offer, any actions or omissions of the Member, or any breach by the Member of the terms and conditions governing this Offer. This indemnity shall survive the termination, completion or expiry of the Offer between Member and Meridian.
  12. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to this Promotion, including any question regarding its existence, interpretation, validity, breach, or termination, shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Toronto, Ontario. By participating in this Promotion, the member irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of such courts and waives any objection to the venue or jurisdiction of such courts. 
  13. Meridian is not liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with this Offer, including but not limited to direct, indirect, or consequential losses.
  14. Participation in this Offer is your acknowledgement that you have read these terms and conditions, and you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  15. This Offer is intended for promotional purposes only and do not constitute financial or legal advice or an opinion related to the acquisition, suitability or use of any of the Accounts.
