Terms and Conditions

Meridian Credit Union Limited (“Meridian”) is offering a limited-time bundle of business banking benefits (the “Offer”) to eligible business Members , who do not currently hold and have not previously held a Business Advantage Plus Savings Account (“Eligible Account”) within the previous 6 months (“Offer Eligibility Criteria”). The Offer is available only in connection with the opening of a new Business Chequing Account and the activation of new Business Online Banking (“BOB”) services. The Offer provides access to select business banking benefits for a limited period, including;

• Business Chequing Account (new accounts only): Monthly account fee waived for the first six (6) months from the account opening date. Limited to one account per Member.
• Business Online Banking (BOB) (new service activations only): Monthly fee waived for the first six (6) months from the service activation date.

Offer Limitations

• The Offer is optional and not a condition to qualify for any other offer.  The Offer is available for 60 days from the Eligible Account opening date. Each product or service noted above as part of the Offer is governed by its own applicable terms and conditions, which will be provided at the time of account opening or enrollment. 
• To qualify, the Business Chequing Account must be newly opened and BOB must be newly activated within 60 days from the Eligible Account opening date. Fee waivers will not apply to accounts or services that were opened or activated prior to the Eligible Account opening date.
• The Member must maintain the Eligible Account in good standing throughout the applicable period of
• Only one (1) Business Chequing Account per Member qualifies for the fee waiver.

Chequing Account and Business Online Banking (BOB) Fee Waiver Timeline

1. The Chequing Account monthly package fee will be waived for the first six (6) months from the date of the Chequing Account opening date, provided the Business Member meets the Offer Eligibility Criteria. All other applicable services charges on the Chequing Account will continue to apply. After the first six (6) months, the standard monthly package fee will automatically be charged to the Chequing Account in accordance with Meridian's standard business banking fee structure as per Business banking account and service fees | Meridian

2. The Business Online Banking monthly fee will be waived for the first six (6) months from the service activation date, provided the Business Member meets the Offer Eligibility Criteria. After the first six (6) months, the standard monthly fee will automatically be charged in accordance with Meridian's standard business banking fee strpture as per Business banking account and service fees | Meridian

General Terms

3. The Offer may be modified, withdrawn, or substituted at any time without notice, in whole or in part, at Meridian’s sole discretion.

4. The Offer cannot be combined with other promotional offers related to the same product or service, unless otherwise determined by Meridian at its sole discretion.

5. The Offer is not applicable to any other account types, including (but not limited to) chequing accounts, Advantage savings accounts (all plan types), or personal member accounts.

6. If Meridian is unable to run the Offer as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Meridian which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Offer, Meridian reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Offer, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way.

7. The Offer may be suspended, modified or withdrawn at any time without notice for any reason including, but not limited to, an error or mistake on behalf of Meridian.

8. By participating in this Offer, all participants agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and these Terms and Conditions. Any attempt to manipulate or exploit the Offer will result in disqualification.

9. In consideration of this Offer provided by Meridian, the Member agrees through their participation in this Offer, to irrevocably and unconditionally release, discharge and forever hold harmless Meridian, its directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, accounts, bonds, covenants, contracts, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, expenses, and compensation of any kind whatsoever (collectively “Claims”), whether known or unknown, which the Member, or any person claiming through or on behalf of the Member, now has, or may hereafter have, arising out of or in connection with this Offer or any associated transaction, service, or product provided by Meridian.

10. By participating in this Offer, the Member agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all Claims, including legal fees and expenses on a full indemnity basis, that may be brought against or incurred by any of the Released Parties as a result of or in connection with this Offer, any actions or omissions of the Member, or any breach by the Member of the terms and conditions governing this Offer. This indemnity shall survive the termination, completion or expiry of the Offer between Member and Meridian.

11. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to this Offer, including any question regarding its existence, interpretation, validity, breach, or termination, shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Toronto, Ontario. By participating in this Promotion, the member irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of such courts and waives any objection to the venue or jurisdiction of such courts. 

12. To the extent that these terms and conditions are inconsistent with any other communication, advertisement, or statement (a "Message") from Meridian, these terms and conditions will supersede all other Messages.

13. You agree that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them. Any notice offered by us with respect to this Offer is deemed to be provided on the day it is posted on our website.

14. Personal information collected in connection with the Promotion will be used and disclosed in accordance with Meridian’s privacy practices and applicable law.
